Irwin has an excellent reputation for the skill with which he represents sophisticated parties in complex commercial transactions and for judiciously counseling his clients as to their strategic business planning needs. His comprehensive ability to promptly identify, properly assess and negotiate substantive inherent risks in virtually all types of commercial transactions enables his clients to prudently navigate appropriate risk allocations with other parties. In addition to recognition by a number of professional groups, Irwin was recruited to serve and has served on the Board of Directors of Alliant Credit Union for the last 8 years. Alliant Credit Union is one of the ten largest credit unions in the nation with well over 13 billion dollars in assets. Irwin is a member of the Alliant Credit Union Board’s Executive Committee and Chairman of its Supervisory Committee. For many years, Irwin previously chaired its Credit Committee. His clients span many industries – financial institutions, developers, investors, real estate investment trusts (REITs), hotels, industrial concerns, manufacturers and retailers. For close to 40 years, Irwin has represented clients in all aspects of the real estate arena, including the development, acquisition, management, financing, workout restructuring, leasing and disposition of significant commercial, industrial and residential properties. He also has a wealth of experience representing all types of players involved in the strategic purchase and/or sale of substantial portfolios of REO and of nonperforming and subperforming loans by open-outcry auction, sealed-bid sales and internet auction sites. Additionally, through the years, Irwin has advised clients in a wide range of complex corporate and other transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint venture formations, investment syndications, partnership dissolutions and secured lending.
