Matthew R. Tanke is counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions practice group. As a registered patent attorney, Matt focuses his practice on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of fields, including process control equipment, audience measurement, paper products, aircraft and child care products. Matt also conducts patentability and infringement searches, and prepares appeal briefs for the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to practicing law, Matt worked as an automation engineer where he designed and implemented safe and efficient systems to improve production for multiple food-processing facilities.

While at DePaul University College of Law, Matt graduated cum laude, and won multiple CALI Awards for the highest grade in Legal Analysis, Legal Profession and Research & Communication. Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and was a member of the Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Honors Program.
