Brad is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. As a registered patent attorney, he specializes in preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also coordinates with foreign legal counsel for patent prosecution in Europe, Japan, Korea, and other foreign patent offices. Brad works with inventors from a wide range of industries covering software, electrical, and mechanical innovations, but most recently has focused on machine learning, neural network models, distributed computing systems, hybrid vehicle technologies, and wireless networking. Brad also performs patentability and infringement searches and provides technical assistance for patent litigation.

Leveraging his technical background, Brad also assists with trade compliance matters related to the country of origin for complex commercial products, including fiber optic communications equipment and components.

Brad started his legal career providing technical assistance at a patent boutique in Chicago. He attended law school at night and joined the Chicago office of Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP as a patent agent, continuing on as a patent associate.
