Black History Month - Showdown: Thurgood Marshall and the Supreme Court Nomination that Changed America

Neal Gerber Eisenberg is delighted to host journalist, award-winning author and Pulitzer finalist Wil Haygood in celebration of Black History Month.

On Monday, February 25, Mr. Haygood will join us to discuss his book, the New York Times bestseller “Showdown: Thurgood Marshall and the Supreme Court Nomination that Changed America." He will examine Thurgood Marshall’s nomination in the context of racial and class tensions in the 1940s and 1950s, and explain how the lessons from the nomination are relevant today.

Mr. Haygood was a national and foreign correspondent for the Washington Post and Boston Globe for thirty years, and will bring a wealth of experience to the discussion.

With this program, Neal Gerber Eisenberg continues its tradition of hosting events that create dialogue around important issues and that foster an open and inclusive environment at our firm. And we are proud to honor Black History Month as part of our larger effort to learn and appreciate the histories that comprise the collective account of our nation, our communities and our profession.
