Neal Gerber Eisenberg Among the First Firms to Complete the American Legal Industry Sustainability Standard (ALISS) Assessment

Neal Gerber Eisenberg recently participated in the first round of the American Legal Industry Sustainability Standard (ALISS), an online self-assessment that allows firms to track and measure their sustainability efforts. ALISS was created by the Law Firm Sustainability Network (LFSN), the leading U.S.-based organization dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability among law firms.

“We are proud to be a member firm of the Law Firm Sustainability Network and one of the 15 firms to have completed the ALISS assessment,” said Scott J. Fisher, managing partner for Neal Gerber Eisenberg. “Sustainability is important to our firm, and this assessment will help focus our efforts to reduce our environmental impact.”

The ALISS assessment awards weighted points for various activities covering five broad categories: Internal Sustainability, External Sustainability, Stakeholder Engagement, Measuring & Reporting, and Innovation.

ALISS also seeks to create a baseline for law firm sustainability programs, which will allow law firms to measure their progress over time, share their best practices, and identify specific areas for improvement. The LFSN encourages all law firms to participate in the ALISS assessment and learn how they can improve their sustainability efforts.
