Andrew is a partner in the firm’s Litigation and Insurance Policyholder Practice Groups — a trusted advocate for clients navigating high-stakes commercial disputes and insurance coverage matters across multiple industries, from inception through trial and appeal.

Andrew has an active commercial litigation practice that spans breach of contract claims, business torts, fraud, class action defense, partnership and shareholder disputes, defamation, False Claims Act cases, Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) claims, and high-exposure personal injury suits. He has successfully prosecuted and defended a wide variety of litigation and arbitration matters — earning recognition from the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as one of the top “40 Under 40 Attorneys to Watch” in 2020.

Andrew also has extensive experience counseling and representing corporate policyholders in a wide range of insurance coverage disputes. Andrew is listed in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2026) for “Insurance: Dispute Resolution” and in The Best Lawyers in America (2026) for Insurance Law. A staunch policyholder advocate, Andrew helps policyholders maximize the value of their insurance assets by advising on insurance programs, resolving complex and high-stakes claims, and litigating coverage disputes when insurers deny or limit coverage. Andrew has secured substantial recoveries for policyholders in litigation matters nationwide. He is also a frequent author and speaker on insurance coverage issues, and serves as co-author of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s insurance treatise on the “Duty to Defend.”

Commercial Litigation

Currently defending Swiss banks against a lawsuit by a former Chicago Bulls player seeking to hold banks liable for embezzlement by the player’s former financial advisor.
Currently representing a Fortune 10 technology company in defending against class action lawsuits alleging violations of the Illinois Biometric Privacy Act arising from the alleged collection of users’ voiceprints without informed consent.
Obtained complete defense verdict in three-day arbitration hearing on behalf of European executive accused of breaching joint venture agreement in connection with stock sale.
Represented trade association in five-week federal jury trial with more than $575 million at stake involving claims for fraud, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.

Represented a national bank accused of knowingly participating in the embezzlement scheme of a fiduciary, obtaining a complete defense verdict in a federal jury trial.
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a global professional services firm in an accounting malpractice action stemming from alleged failure to implement a favorable tax strategy.
Obtained dismissal on behalf of ride-sharing company of high-exposure personal injury lawsuit.
Obtained dismissal and affirmance on appeal of multiple defamation and false light lawsuits against a media entity.
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of aircraft owner in title dispute over World War II plane and affirmance before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
As appellate counsel, obtained a complete reversal of a jury verdict in a multimillion-dollar breach of contract dispute.
Obtained favorable settlement on behalf of a large investment bank in defending against claims under the Illinois False Claims Act arising out of the setting of interest rates for municipal bonds.
Represented shareholders of beverage distributor in successfully pursuing and resolving minority shareholder oppression claims under the Illinois Business Corporations Act.

Insurance Coverage

Secured a favorable settlement on behalf of a large health care organization in a high-profile class action alleging violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
Represented a health care company in obtaining insurance coverage for a mass tort lawsuit arising out of cryogenic tank failure and successfully defended against the insurer’s attempt to extinguish the defense obligation in both the trial and appellate courts (victory featured on the cover of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin).
Represented owners of a family-owned pizza franchise in obtaining a declaratory judgment finding that insurer had a duty to defend trade dress claims.
Represented a health and organic foods distributor in obtaining insurance coverage for mass tort claims involving personal injuries stemming from the consumption of toxic bottled water.
Represented a law firm in obtaining insurance coverage for the successful resolution of a high-stakes legal malpractice lawsuit stemming from patent litigation.
Represented various policyholders in actions seeking insurance coverage for mass tort claims involving alleged exposure to ethylene oxide in multiple trial court proceedings in state and federal court, the Seventh Circuit, and the Illinois Supreme Court.
Obtained judgment on the pleadings on behalf of insured municipality in multimillion-dollar coverage dispute over excess coverage for civil rights jury verdict.
