He has extensive experience with technology contracts, including software licensing, SaaS, PaaS, technology and cloud services, software and intellectual property development agreements, master services agreements, referral and reseller arrangements, source code escrow agreements, and intellectual property transfers. Alfred also handles a wide range of commercial contracts such as purchase and supply, distribution, manufacturing, joint venture, strategic alliance, and collaboration agreements.
He advises on privacy and data protection compliance with a strong contractual focus, including preparing and negotiating data processing and related security addendums and counseling clients on compliance with U.S. state privacy laws and the GDPR. As a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), he helps clients address requirements under the EU/UK GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and other data protection laws, ranging from negotiating data processing agreements to guiding organizations through complex compliance challenges. Alfred is also a Certified AI Governance Professional (AIGP) through the IAPP and frequently advises clients on the development, deployment, and use of artificial intelligence-based systems and related agreements and contractual provisions.
With substantial experience on both vendor and customer sides, Alfred represents a wide range of clients, from global enterprises to start-ups, and works across various industries. He frequently creates templates for early-stage companies, drafting and negotiating customer agreements, website terms of use, and privacy policies. He also negotiates all types of technology vendor agreements for multinational companies, with a particular emphasis on those involving cloud services, AI and other emerging technologies. He also supports corporate transactions, handling technology and IP diligence for mergers, acquisitions, venture financings, and related agreements such as transition services and IP license agreements.
Alfred’s background in biological sciences and genetics, combined with his prior experience at a financial trading firm, enables him to support technology-driven businesses across diverse industries. He regularly oversees matters relating to pharmaceuticals, health care, finance, real estate, energy, natural resources, private equity, and more.
