Josh is an associate in the Intellectual Property practice group, where he focuses on helping clients navigate commercial and technology transactions. His work includes software licensing; SaaS and PaaS agreements; technology and cloud services; artificial intelligence agreements; software and intellectual property development agreements; master services agreements; referral and reseller arrangements; terms of service and privacy policies; and intellectual property transfer and licensing agreements. He also advises clients on a wide range of commercial contracts, including purchase and supply, distribution, manufacturing, joint venture, strategic alliance, independent contractor, non‑disclosure, and collaboration agreements.
Josh supports corporate transactions by conducting intellectual property diligence for mergers, acquisitions, venture financings, and related agreements. He also has experience assisting with class action litigation involving cybersecurity and privacy issues.
Josh has also worked alongside in‑house legal teams through extended secondments with clients. During his time with these clients, he worked closely with business stakeholders on licensing and service agreements in the healthcare and restaurant industries.
During law school, Josh served as an Articles Editor for the Elder Law Journal and as an officer in the Immigration Law Society. Additionally, he served as a student attorney in the University of Illinois Immigration Law Clinic and was a Judicial Extern for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he researched and drafted orders on motions. Most recently, Josh was a Summer Associate at NGE.
Before becoming a lawyer, Josh spent approximately fifteen years managing direct marketing campaigns, conducting data analytics, and overseeing retail merchandising programs for clients of several marketing and logistics firms.
