David Wheeler, leader of the firm’s Data Privacy & Information Governance group, was recently appointed to three leadership roles in the American Bar Association’s Science & Technology Law Section.  David will be serving as Vice-Chair for the Information Security Committee, the Internet of Things Committee, and the Biotechnology, Healthcare Technology, and Medical Devices Committee for the 2021-2022 bar year.  In these roles, David will help provide leadership on emerging issues, promote sound policy and public understanding on these issues, and enhance the professional development of fellow members.

David is well-positioned for his new roles, having over three decades of information technology experience and a CIPP certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).  His practice extends across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, energy, finance, entertainment, education, hospitality and medicine.  David is also a frequent speaker and author of articles on cybersecurity issues and data privacy regulations.
