Norm counsels companies of all sizes on corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and other commercial transactions, advising on corporate and contractual issues that impact business operations.

Norm also focuses on international expansion, both internally and with partners, through joint venture, distribution, licensing and other business models. He works closely with private companies and entrepreneurs and takes pride in being a trusted partner of growing and evolving companies.

Norm represented one such client during the entirety of its initial 30-year growth spurt, providing strategic advice and counsel as the company developed its business model, expanded domestically, acquired competitors, privately raised capital, went public, went private, expanded internationally and dealt with governmental regulatory authorities. Adept at weathering changes in management, ownership and control, Norm consistently finds innovative ways for his clients to outpace the competition in the challenging environment of corporate transactions.

Committed to serving his community and the law, Norm is president, and a member of the board of directors, of the John R. Halligan Charitable Fund, a private foundation that supports artistic, cultural and civic organizations based in Chicago and Honolulu. He also served on advisory committees to the Secretary of State of Illinois concerning the Illinois Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act and Illinois securities laws.
