Leah A. Schleicher, co-chair of the Hospitality & Leisure practice group and partner in the Real Estate group, has been named to Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 15th annual list of Women Worth Watching. This list recognizes a select group of women for their leadership, professional achievement and community service.
“I’m thrilled to see Leah honored for her professional excellence,” said Managing Partner Scott J. Fisher. “Leah’s contributions go well beyond her terrific legal abilities. She has built a successful practice while remaining dedicated to helping those around her, both professionally and within the community at large.”
Schleicher is dedicated to promoting and supporting women in the legal profession. She is participating in the inaugural Women in Law Hackathon, a Shark Tank-style pitch competition aimed at generating innovative ideas to close the gender gap in law firms, and will present her ideas to judges at Stanford Law School on June 24.
In addition, she is also a member of CREW-Chicago, an organization for senior-level executive women in the Chicago real estate field, and previously acted as secretary of the Membership Committee. At Neal Gerber Eisenberg, Schleicher is active in the development and advancement of her fellow colleagues, serving as co-chair of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and as a member of the Associate Review Committee.
Within her community, Schleicher serves as a member of the board of directors of Housing Opportunities for Women, which implements prevention strategies and support services for the homeless. She has served as president and board member for the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, a nonprofit that supports victims of domestic violence in Cook County by providing free legal services. In 2014, the DVLC presented Schleicher with its Champion of Justice Award for her work and dedication to the organization.
Schleicher will be profiled in an upcoming Women Worth Watching issue of the Profiles in Diversity Journal, scheduled for publication in September.
