Dan is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions practice group. His practice focuses on U.S. patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation in technical fields including software, chemistry, automotives, electronics, and medical devices. He also has experience prosecuting inbound foreign applications, prosecuting foreign patents, and trademark work.
Dan is well-versed in assisting with patent litigation, including conducting invalidity and noninfringement analysis and investigations, preparing written discovery requests and responses, taking depositions, and working with expert witnesses. Dan has also drafted petitions for Inter Partes Review and performed due-diligence review of patent portfolios.
Before practicing law, Dan worked as a mechanical engineer for 18 years in product development and manufacturing, with an additional focus on research and development. His engineering experience, which includes design and manufacturing of electrical equipment, medical equipment and consumer electronics, allows him to quickly grasp clients’ technologies and to envision how these technologies fit their businesses.
