As a corporate associate, Xuehui "Cassie" Zhang focuses her practice on complex private equity and public company transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and cross-border transactions. Cassie also counsels clients on a range of general corporate matters such as complex commercial agreements and corporate governance.
Cassie's transactional experience includes representation of public and private companies in initial and secondary debt and equity offerings, public and private mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, recapitalizations and debt restructuring. Cassie represents companies in diverse industries including energy, fashion, financial services, mining, technology, and transportation.
Cassie advises clients including large public and private technology and financial firms on complex commercial agreements and represents public companies in 1934 Act reports, SEC compliance, corporate governance, shareholders meetings and proxy statements, and establishment of rights plans.
Prior to joining Neal Gerber Eisenberg, Cassie was an associate at a large law firm in Chicago and an associate in the Hong Kong and Beijing offices of Herbert Smith Freehills where she represented companies in initial public and other securities offerings. During her time at Columbia, Cassie was on the staff of the Columbia Business Law Review and was an officer of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and the Society of Chinese Law. She is fluent in Chinese.
