Neal Gerber Eisenberg Adds James R. Baldwin as Associate Counsel in Intellectual Property Practice Group

Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP has once again expanded its Intellectual Property practice group with the addition of James R. Baldwin as associate counsel.

Baldwin has represented a wide range of clients in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of telecommunications, control systems, software systems, connected vehicles, signal processing, computer software, electronics, memory architecture and data analysis. He comes to Neal Gerber Eisenberg from Hanley, Flight and Zimmerman where he served as a patent attorney since 2013.

Prior to pursuing a career in patent law, Baldwin worked for an aerospace defense company, where he designed both hardware and software for systems installed in aircraft for VIP military transport, as well as dive computers for Special Forces. He was involved in all stages of the development process, from conception and design, to validation and implementation.

Baldwin received his J.D., cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2012 with an Intellectual Property Certificate. While in law school, he interned for the Department of Energy, where he worked with battery technology, and was the executive articles editor of the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in 2005.

Baldwin is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
