A jury verdict found that DRGEM Corp., a Korean manufacturer of x-ray equipment, its U.S. distributor DRGEM USA Corp., and Blue Ridge X-Ray had infringed Sedecal’s patent. The jury found that DRGEM and DRGEM USA had willfully infringed the patent, and awarded Sedecal $852,000 in damages. The patent at issue covers the unique arrangement of components within a high voltage transformer that has been utilized in Sedecal’s x-ray generators since 2007.
