Biek moderated a panel titled “Removing a Pinch of SALT:  The Impact of Bankruptcy Proceedings on State and Local Tax Liabilities of Businesses in Restructuring or M&A Transactions” at the ABA Fall Tax Meeting in Dallas, Texas. The program covered federal bankruptcy procedures and how they can be utilized to achieve favorable resolutions of pre-petition state and local tax liabilities of a company under audit or assessment or facing substantial unreported tax liabilities.
