- Discussion of recent cases, rulings and legislative developments regarding state income/franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, gross receipts taxes and other taxes throughout the United States.

Lawrence will speak on the topic entitled "Estate Planning 2010."
- This discussion will focus on moving forward during uncertain times with estate planning that provides flexibility to achieve objectives while minimizing exposure to transfer taxes no matter what form those taxes may take in the future.

John will speak on the topic entitled "State Unclaimed Property."
- State unclaimed property laws continue to be an important compliance issue for businesses and their advisors. Failure to comply with the thicket of unclaimed property laws across the country can subject companies to significant audit exposure, litigation and possible financial reporting issues. Many states are stepping up the pace of their unclaimed property audits in order to protect owners of unclaimed property and bring much needed revenue into the state’s coffers. This panel will cover recent cases and legislative developments on unclaimed property issues and discuss best practices in unclaimed property compliance.
